Our Rebuttals

  1. It’s in the same development as Sloan Kettering and the Islamic Society of Monmouth County (the mosque).

Those properties are in Middletown not Holmdel. The town boundary is Red Hill Rd. The entire Holmdel side is undeveloped, picturesque, farmland, and is zoned residential/agricultural. Let’s keep it that way and not turn Holmdel into Middletown.

  2. The facility can generate “$100k a year in municipal and property taxes.”

So put it in a commercially zoned tract, such as on RT 35 or in Bell Labs where that use is approved. We are not against commerce, just want it sited appropriately.

Holmdel should not be granting variances for large scale change in use. If they can do it here, they can do it to your neighbor’s house too.
